Track by Aere — Privacy

Track by Aere is made by Aere Health, Inc. This policy covers the Track app. Aere's own privacy policy covers aere.health and the Aere platform, which are separate.

Information we collect

Track has no accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or password, and we do not collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers or location. We use no analytics, crash reporting or advertising software.

What you log — meals, supplements, workouts, targets and settings — is stored on your device. We have no copy of it and no way to identify you.

Information sent off your device

Three features send data to be processed.

1. Meal analysis. A photo or description you ask Track to analyze is sent to our server and passed to a third-party service that returns a nutrition estimate. Photos are resized and re-encoded on your device first, which removes location and camera information.

2. Barcode lookup. A scanned barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to identify the product.

3. Food search. Text you search is sent to our server and used to query the USDA FoodData Central database.

Nothing identifying you is included in these requests, and our server keeps no copy of what passes through it.

Service providers

Meal analysis is processed by a third-party service. We use it on commercial terms which require that anything Track sends is not used to train or improve that provider's models, and is not read by human reviewers.

Our server is hosted by a third-party provider that keeps standard web server logs, recording IP addresses, times and request paths. We do not log the contents of your requests or our responses.

Apple Health

If you connect Track to Apple Health, information is exchanged on your device with your permission, and you can revoke that permission at any time in the Health app. Health data is not sent to our server.

Children

Track is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Deleting your information

Delete the app. Everything Track holds is stored on your device. If you use iCloud Backup, you can also remove the app's backup data in iOS Settings under your Apple Account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
